This painting originated when my niece was pregnant with her son. I started thinking about the feminine experience. What I had previously considered messy and shameful became in my painting meditation a riotous celebration of rose petals, flowers and pearls found in the wedding area of an arts and crafts store. When the salesgirl asked me if I was getting married, I felt like saying...yes, I am marrying my Self with Love. In the process of creating this painting, my own image of my femininity transformed into something sacred. << BACK to Giclee Prints
